We are hiring a System Administrator to join our team!
The Role: The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining the good health of our servers and systems in a mixed Windows & Linux environment, with the main focus on operational activities, proactive capacity management, and event monitoring. He/she will also contribute to the execution of various projects & amp; provide support for the systems under his responsibility.
What You willl be doing...
-Be responsible for the proper daily operations of Windows and Linux systems under his/her responsibility (main focus on Windows), such as distributed storage nodes, file transfer servers,web and database hosting, as well as various other proprietary and open-source software; -Provide applicative support on tools and applications used -Install and maintain physical/virtual servers and related software; -Coordinate with various internal teams when tasks need to be delegated (ex: firewall configuration); -Monitor system events to ensure the health, maximum system availability and service quality; -Provide advanced troubleshooting in emergency situations; -Perform system and application patching, as well as keeping the operating systems and software up to date; -Maintain documentation regarding installation, configuration, operation and troubleshooting procedures related to the systems; -Participate in the definition of standards, guidelines, best practices and metrics as directed; -Assist in evaluating new requirements, technical designs and standards; -Resolve all incidents and tasks. Answer internal client questions; -Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as required (including on-call rotations); -Carry out all other related tasks. Qualifications
What We are Looking For... Education Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Relevant experience -4+ years of experience in systems administration in a 300+ servers environment
Knowledge -Excellent knowledge of Windows operating systems; Windows 7/10, Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2 -Excellent knowledge of Linux operating systems; Ubuntu, CentOS 6/7 or related distributions -Working knowledge of system configuration management concepts and tools -Good knowledge of automation scripting using Powershell, Python, Bash, Perl, etc -Good knowledge of internet technologies and concepts such as TCP, UDP and higher level protocols such as DNS, HTTP, SMTP, FTP, SSH and Rest/Soap web APIs is important -Good knowledge of general networking concepts; routing, switching, security and IP addressing -Good knowledge of MySQL, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL database usage and administration -Good knowledge of storage concepts like SAN, NAS, etc -Good knowledge of monitoring solutions like SCOM, Nagios, Cacti, Zabbix -(Asset) Have a certification in MCSA, CCNA, RHCSA or similar
